About Dr. Amalia Miranda

Amalia M. Miranda, MD, was born in Spain, and received her medical degree from the University of Seville in 1978. She also completed her residency training there in 1982.
Dr. Miranda moved to Oklahoma City in 1983, and joined the Corneal Research group at the Dean A. McGee Eye Institute. In 1985, Dr. Miranda was appointed to the faculty of the Institute, and also served as director of the Low Vision Clinic and practiced General Ophthalmology.
In 1993, Dr. Miranda relocated her practice to the Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where she continues to practice General Ophthalmology with an emphasis on the treatment of glaucoma, diabetes, dry eyes and other diseases of the eye. Dr. Miranda is a past president of the Oklahoma Academy of Ophthalmology, and is also a counselor of the American Academy of Ophthalmology for the state of Oklahoma, Oklahoma County Medical Society and Oklahoma City Medical Society.

She is also active in civic affairs, the arts and philanthropy in Oklahoma City, serving as a trustee at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art.
